Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine, a Philadelphia native, was born and raised there. Her mother Pam has been a previous backing singer at Philadelphia International Records. As a child the father of her was chosen as the curator of Strawberry Mansion Section. Strawberry Mansion Section. Her family moved later into this iconic structure. In 2005, a Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts graduate, she is a major in vocal performance. Sullivan started singing in the contralto section of the youth choir and shortly after, in the adult choir. Sullivan received little exposure to secular music. The singer recalls she was 11 when someone asked her to sing solos at church. However, she was not fully ready. Then, McDonald's held a contest for children in large cities. I was able to perform "Accept what God allows" in the show Showtime at the Apollo. And the public was extremely supportive. Stevie Wonder sang her part for the birthday party of her son at the age of 13. Sullivan was signed initially to Jive Records at the age 15. At the age of 15 she signed with Jive Records. She made an entire album in Jive Records but it was not released. Sullivan was then dropped at the hands of the company. The singer had a great working relations to Missy Elliott. Elliott produced many of her tracks which included "Backstabbers" and "Backstabbers," which was written by Timbaland.
